Friday, August 03, 2007 Updates... Assalamualaikum, my friends. A long hiatus, a very long break in writing anything, coincided with a lot of happenings. Some good ones, some bad ones, but it was all part of what makes life real. For the unknown, the old ship has sunk. Not quite titanic-like, because the signs are all on the wall for a good few months, but still a little bit surprised that it actually sink at all. Given the prospects of having a great amount of venture capitals to come from a government agency after a very long waits, on the surface, the ship should be able to survive. But as in everything government-linked stuff, it takes forever to get anything done at all. The fund was actually been approved in February, but the sign-off part took more than 3 months to get through, which is way too-long-a-time to wait given the very tight financial constraints we are in. How on earth does these people actually been trusted to run a venture capital board is totally incomprehensible to me, for they actually know the deep shit that we are in and yet still manage to drag their ass in finalizing the required legal documents. Maybe, this is just another case of letting a kid do a man's job! It will never be done right! The good thing about this whole fiasco is, we manage to get another employment fast. It is not a grand company, in fact it is still very much in setup stage, but it share the same passion of success and the big dream as the old company. And the most important part, it pays well. And on time, which is very important. I hope this new workplace of mine could actually be something, and start making good progress as years gone by. The team here are a committed lot, so hopefully we could actually deliver the goods this time around (am having a project dateline on Oct 15, which almost clashes with Raya, let's hope it is not :p ) Work, work and more work, but as long as the dough keeps on coming as it should, I have no complaints. On a very positive note, I am no more single and available. On 30th of June, the status was upgraded. I am now a proud and happy fiancĕ to a lovely woman, whom I always passionately address in this blog as LadyD. Well, first step towards a more fulfilling life, married life... It was a simple 'majlis bertunang', not quite as grand as what sleazy magazines and movies used to portrait, but a very nice occasion for parents to meet one another and try to figure out what their future in-laws are like. Looking at my parents, I would say they totally approved my choice, and actually glad that the in-laws-to-be are on the same wavelength as they are (particularly my dad who really like the fact that both him and her dad wore 'jubah' for the occasion). Parents, sometime you just mesmerize by their acts. My sister had delivered yet another baby to the family, baby boy this time. Born on 25th July / 10 Rejab, at 1453hrs, weight 3.63kg. A heavy chap, and my mom said, should grow up to be as tall as his dad, looking at his stature. I am not really sure about that, but interesting to listen to her describing (or rather, explaining) her thoughts. The boy was overdue for about three weeks, so that should explain the weight. For the meantime, I called the baby boy, Awang, a generic and very 'kampung' name, until his parents finally decides to tell me what the proper name he should be address as. I reckon it will be 'Mohamad XX XX' but maybe it could change at the very last minutes. His sister has her name changed last time around because the grandparents find it a tad too urban (means not making any sense), so I am eagerly waiting, what Awang would end up be :D Looking at the boy sleeping so soundly on the bed, gives me a warm feeling, what a creature. May him have a very bright and sunny future ahead, Insyaallah. With the new job, I will have to relocate. Not just because of the distance and the ridiculous tolls, but also because my current place was down to two tenants after another house mate has decided to took up an offer in Dubai. Good for him, a new experience awaits. That was the reason I am staying back in the office this late, for I have an appointment to check out the new place around 2100hrs this evening. Hopefully everything works out fine, because the place I am checking later is quite near to the office. I could actually come to work by walking if I choose to, which maybe I would someday, just for the health benefits. So people, there. Some insights to what's up with me in between April and August. Hopefully I could muster some time to write some more in the future. Till then, work hard, play hard, live real. nesloice walks through at 6:03 PM. |
