Friday, November 18, 2005 The Days After Raya... Assalamualaikum, people... Still in the Raya mood? Good for U. Well, I am not. The reason being, right after coming back from the Raya Holidays, I had been presented with the burden of taking over a colleague's job, because she has resigned. There's nothing wrong with her professionally to trigger such resignation, it just that it is family related, and she is a foreigner, so you can't really do anything about that,... it just that the amount of her tasks that required urgent attentions is much, much more than I had expected. Having to update ECAD tools for nine(9) Linux Workstation, with a very little experience of Linux's file management, is no child's play. And having to do the hard work again after just finishes doing it two days earlier because of a new patch from the ECAD's tool vendor, is really making me cursing all the way. Silently though :p Not to forget the responsibility of doing system backup on a weekly basis for all the workstation... offering assistance on CAD's tools on request... attending to email communications with the foundry, the vendors and the customers... and of course, my normal works. All these are making me a little more exhausted than I used to be, kind of reminding me of my first few months at work, with so much to learn and so little time... And to top it off, the boss, the very big boss in fact, instructed me and another colleague of mine to prepare a White Paper (Technical) on our main product, which is due on 30th of this month. White Paper man, not any press releases or small pamphlets focusing on product characteristics and features. He demanded a proper studies on advantages and exceptional qualities of our product as compare to competitors'. That is a lot of reading and searching, definitely not my cup of tea. Reading fictions is OK, but technical stuff?!... I need a strong black coffee to pull me over the day :( or maybe a very thick concoction of mocha would do the trick :D By the way, since my department has becoming short of Junior Engineers, due to promotion of the current team members, I would love to offer anyone who has a good degree in Electronic/Communication/Computer/MicroE Engineering an opportunity to be part of the team. All you need to do is email me your resume, complete with details on subjects' grade, in particular, VLSI and Electronic, before 30th of November 2005. Only short listed ones will be contacted for interviews. Fresh graduates are very welcome. More info on this, please go to the company's web site, www.sireslabs.com My weekend is a little dull in comparison to some of U who had a long list of Open Houses' invitation. But I prefer it that way, so I have more time for myself to have a very good rest, or even went out entertaining friends and potential :D OK guys and gals, till I write again, take care... nesloice walks through at 2:15 PM. |
