Thursday, October 27, 2005 "Berpesan-pesan lah dgn Kebenaran, dan Berpesan-pesan lah dgn Kesabaran..." Assalamualaikum, people... Eid-ul Fitr is just around the corner, which means effectively Ramadhan is nearing it's end. Everywhere, people are so eager to make all the necessary preparation for the coming Raya, but sadly, a lot of people simply ignore the generous offer of late Ramadhan, i.e. the great Lailatul-Qadr and the promise of safety from the uncompromising An-Naar (Hell). It's really a pity, given the fact that it is not that difficult to sustain whatever good deeds we've done in the earlier phase of Ramadhan, such as Tarawih and reciting Qu-ran, but many people simply fall for the exhaustion of shopping and preparing for Raya. Although it is very much apprehensible, these should not be an excuse for many of us to skip devoting our most precious time to honor the month of Ramadhan. We've been privileged to be presented the chance to embrace Ramadhan one more time in our lifetime, with no guarantee of another chance in the future because life is so unpredictable. We couldn't even be sure whether we will still be alive for Iftar this evening, let alone the prospect of seeing another Ramadhan. Maybe, tonight's Tarawih is our last, wouldn't it be nice to closed our book-of-'amal on a high note?! It is OK to prepare wholeheartedly for the coming festivities, especially Eid-ul Fitr, where we celebrate our winning in conquering our inner demon, an-Nafs, but please always bear in mind, Ramadhan's test is for the whole month, a whole month of devotion and learning. Let us saviour the remaining few days of Ramadhan, by double-up our effort,... there's still a possibility of the Lailatul Qadr looming on the horizon of Ramadhan, waiting for us to discover. I apologize if today's entry sounded too arrogant or too busybody for your liking. But to me, today's entry is my way of reminding U people, and particularly myself, of our duty as a Muslim. Every single one of us are not perfect, so it is only right that we keeps reminding and correcting each other, in our search to be a better servant of Allah. Shopped till U dropped, if U may, but please... drag yourself for Tarawih at the mosque nearby on these remaining nights. Have a blessed Ramadhan, everyone. nesloice walks through at 4:29 PM. |
