Wednesday, September 28, 2005 A Little Promo, Guys.... (and Gals....) Assalamualaikum, friends,.. Wow, it has been a really long while since I updated anything on this dull blog of mine. A lot of reasons (or excuses, if U prefer) for such a long hibernation. Well, let just say,... I am not in the correct state-of-mind to write anything. All kind of problems pops-up, one after another, which really has drained my creative mind. To simply write just about my boring daily life would not suffice, as this blog is suppose to be my space for voicing my thoughts, opinion and POV on all thing that fancy me... So I waited, waited, and waited..., until all those problems has been satisfactorily taken care of, one way or another. Today seems to be a good day to come out of this Literal Hibernation. The weather in Cyberjaya is sky clear, the haze is already long gone... My work is done, two days ahead of schedule, yeah! :D The salary is in, just about time. The car has been serviced and feel like a brand new... The personal life?!... this one I am not quite sure of the status. But anything is better than feeling down and sorry of myself, so I might just take it anyway ;) Well, if U are a loyal visitor of my blog, U should be able to recall of an event called Diablog (I covered this in an entry somewhere in January, dig the archive peps! :p) which I has been a regular participant of. It is a semi-academia kind of forum among webbloggers (mostly member of GengJurnal, but nonetheless open to public). We discuss issues which is related to the world of blogging in Malaysia, and the panelist are selected among those who are directly related to the issues. The diablogist (the participants as well as the organizers, as we prefer to be called) try to be alert of their surrounding, by discussing issues that are close to their heart. We had talked about how we could give inputs to local literature scene, we talked about how to be an influential blogger, we talked about how to eradicate the cliques culture among local webbloggers... quite a few heavy topics I must admit. This weekend though, on Sunday, we decided to talk about the scope of writing, how we once-in-a-while should touch a little deeper of current issues in our writing, as our contribution towards the growth of a thinking society. After all, blogger are people who sensitive of their surrounding, whom are always being observant to the happenings around them. To be a serious social critics is a little too much to ask from a blogger though, because blog is as much personal as it is public, so we really need to know where to draw the line. Hence it promise to be a fruitful discussion. Check it out, people... Everyone is cordially invited :D More often than not, the Diablog would turn out to be a get-together session afterward, where we mingle with each other and trying to get to know the real person behind their blog-persona. To me, this is what really intrigue me to participate in this Diablog thing. To get to know the real person, what they're like, who they really are... all those element that keeps me want to enjoy their writing more and more. When U know the real people behind all those quirky screen names, it make it easier to relate to their thought and ideas. To me, that's priceless. nesloice walks through at 7:13 PM. |
