Assalamualaikum people...

Remember how I said "Murphy Law" does applies everytime?! It did, and this time around, in a big way. Just last Friday, for no apparent reasons whatsoever, my Windows PC has been acting weird, it get connects and disconnects to the Internet via LAN at its own will, eventhough the Internet connection is very much healthy (judged by the performance of other PCs on the network). And on Monday, it seems to master the act of turning down it display at will (the monitor simply black-out) and on Tuesday, the whole system simply hanged without any reasons,.. not that I had been running a heavy program on it, just a simple email program. I tried to reinstall the operating system, but the problem still remains. My Windows PC seems to be a little more intelligent than it should be, which is ironic given the reputations it had all this while for being the most fragile OS on the planet.

What puzzled me the most is the fact that my PC is very much up-to-date in term of antivirus definition and spyware protection. So I can almost surely rule out the possibility of virus attack or hidden spyware activities that might interfere with the Operating System. Thankfully, I've been smart enough to look into the hardware aspect to figure out what is really going wrong with my PC. A close look revealed a disturbing truth. My graphic card's cooling fan is malfunction, my PC's power supply is unreliable (it refuses to properly power up the system numerous times), the restart button doesn't work, and I cannot get into BIOS setup to look into the all-important temperature and voltage data to determine the functionality of the motherboard. All these has seems to confuse the OS and most probably lead to the abnormalities. Pity me, now I had a PC with a dead graphic card and a power supply that might go off anytime. Blessing in disguise I think, for I will have a new graphic card and power supply as early as next Monday, but till then, I will have to make do with borrowing other people's PC once in a while just to check out my email and surf the net. Borrowing... hate to do it, just really not my cup of tea...

OK, a little update on what happened last weekend... I had a wonderful time at the GJ's Weblogger Day Celebration, even managed to win the title of "Raja Botol" for being able to outlast all the other participants in a simple game of quick thinking and good psycho-ing, hahahah. The treasure hunt is fun too, but my team narrowly missed out the top three spots due to some mis-interpretation of clues and lack of experiences. A round applause to the organizing committee for being able to put up such an eventful celebration in a short time. It is truly a wonderful day.

This weekend, my old college, RMC of Sg. Besi, KL will be having it annual OP-PP Carnival on Sunday, 19th of June, 2005. As usual, this is an opportunity for all the ex-student, fondly called OP for Old Putera, to come back to their Alma Mater for a day of sports, competition and light military activities with the present college students. This is an open-for-all event, so even if you are not related to RMC at all, you can still come and have a look on what is this RMC all about. Anyone who are interested to tag me along on that Sunday for a little sight seeing of RMC, and probably even take part in shooting practice (we will use real firearms, military class pistol HK-22), do give me a call before Sunday. Nothing particular, just to brief you about how to actually gets there, and what to expect, :)
