Assalamualaikum, my dear readers,...

It's February the 14th, the day when a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates cost an arm and a leg ... man, what with this madness, come on, as if it is the only day in a year when we should celebrate and honour Love, or as if it is the only day in a year when Love truly exist?!! It is rather sad to witness this kind of misguided show of passionate love and care... I had no qualms over single people who are deeply in love and enjoyed each other's company, in-fact for the record, I do believe in the existence of true love, it just the celebration of Valentine's Day that focus more on the material aspect of love and care that really itched me all over. Guys, huge bouquet of flowers and expensive gift are never a match for a caring and loving heart, it is the thought that count . Remember the story about a boy, a handful of sea sand and his teacher?! Singles, take note: "Why is it so important to present the-one-you-love a bouquet of 3, 12 or 144 red roses on Valentine's Day, when an ear to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, and a company to enjoy, for 365 days a year, offer a far more satisfying pleasure?!" (I am hinting for those who are currently truly, madly, deeply in Love, to settle down and get married... just in case they still couldn't read in-between my lines, )

There is nothing wrong to show your compassion when you are in Love, but please observed the rules of your own faith. If you are Muslim, please be a Good Muslim. I do not think there is any necessity for me to elaborate on how to be a Good Muslim here, because you can look for that information somewhere else, suffice to say that your Lover is still not yours, so "jaga hukum-hakam pergaulan, nak lebih-lebih, pegang-pegang, raba-raba, cium-cium, bernikah cepat-cepat", because only then everything are Legal ... It really bothers me, and a lot of other people too, to witness how couple behave in public places nowadays, arghh, cuddling, teasing, smooching,... in public places... come on?! And this is in Islam-Hadhari-Malaysia,... (don't ever ask me to further elaborate on this Islam-Hadhari thing, or discuss my view of it, because my view is against the mainstream, enough said) I wish I have enough courage to confront these couples and give them a nice lecture on how they should behave, at least vent out my disapproval, but then, I am not that courageous...

Having ranting about all that, does not imply that I against being compassionate, it just that I believed in setting certain rules in showing your compassion to your love one. Our faith (I believed majority of you readers are Muslim) has setup proper guidelines of how a relationship in between opposite sex should be, the questions we need to ask ourselves is how much of the guidelines we wish to adhere to, and how 'good' a Muslim we want to be...?!

BTW, there is nothing wrong about giving out flowers and box of chocolates, just don't do it only once a year... occasional suprises are the recipe for a long lasting Love...
